Start pet parenthood right
Whether you’ve adopted a tiny kitten or senior dog, ensure your new pet’s health with wellness exams. These exams are great for establishing with the clinic you can turn to when your pet is sick. It also gives you a clear picture of your pet’s overall health, even if they are currently up-to-date on vaccinations and prevention.
Get your pet back on track
Life can get away from you and before you know it your pet is over a year behind on their wellness check-ups. We’re here to help get your pet’s health back on track with our comprehensive wellness exams. Get an overall look at your pet’s current health situation and set them up for a healthy future.
We recommend your pet have at least one wellness exam each year, preferably two. Exam frequency often depends on the age of your pet. A very young or senior pet will need to have more frequent wellness exams to manage more rapid changes in the body.
Wellness exams can detect diseases and issues that may otherwise go unnoticed until the condition has become severe. Routine wellness exams help to prevent these problems by catching and treating them early. This means lower vet costs overtime for you and a happier more comfortable life for your pet.
You’ll want to know the type of food your pet eats and how much they consume each day. Bring any supplements or medication your pet uses. If you’re going to a new vet, you should bring copies of all their previous medical documents. These can be provided by previous veterinary clinics upon request. Keep track of any questions or concerns you have about your pet’s behavior or health as wellness exams are the perfect time to get an expert answer.
Our wellness exams provide patients with the following services
Our Process
Our vet will check your pet's skin condition, eyes, nose, teeth, ears, and other key points to determine overall health. This can uncover unknown and developing problems that will be more affordable to treat in the early stages.
During your pet's wellness exam, our veterinarian with ausculate (listen with a stethoscope) to your pet's heart and lungs. They will also palpate your pet's lymph nodes, abdomen, throat, and legs to check for concerning irregularities.
Blood and fecal testing will be carried out during your pet's wellness exam. Pet's will naturally hide signs of weakness which can keep concerning medical conditions hidden until the problem has progressed. Blood and fecal testing gives pet owner's peace of mind knowing their pet is well. It also provides a baseline for future tests.
Depending on your pet's species, age, and lifestyle different vaccinations will be necessary. Generally, all pets will receive a rabies vaccine during their annual wellness exam. If you're unsure which vaccinations your pet needs, our team of veterinary experts are here to help.
During your pet's wellness exam, our veterinarian can prescribe prevention medication to protect your pet from fleas, ticks, and heartworms. There are a wide variety of options available for both cats and dogs. If you're unsure which option is right for your pet, our team is here to guide you to the best choice.
