What you need to know about wellness exams

How Often Should My Pet Have a Wellness Exam?

We recommend your pet have at least one wellness exam each year, preferably two. Exam frequency often depends on the age of your pet. A very young or senior pet will need to have more frequent wellness exams to manage more rapid changes in the body.

Why Should My Pet Have Regular Wellness Exams?

Wellness exams can detect diseases and issues that may otherwise go unnoticed until the condition has become severe. Routine wellness exams help to prevent these problems by catching and treating them early. This means lower vet costs overtime for you and a happier more comfortable life for your pet.

How Can I Prepare For My Pet’s Wellness Exam?

You’ll want to know the type of food your pet eats and how much they consume each day. Bring any supplements or medication your pet uses. If you’re going to a new vet, you should bring copies of all their previous medical documents. These can be provided by previous veterinary clinics upon request. Keep track of any questions or concerns you have about your pet’s behavior or health as wellness exams are the perfect time to get an expert answer.
